Dear Friends of Carmel,

Greetings in the Lord!

It is with great joy that I welcome you to CACTUS, our center in Carmel where her rich spiritual heritage continues to flourish and touch the lives of many. Whether you are visiting us for the first time or have journeyed with us through the years, know that you are most welcome in this sacred space of prayer, formation, and encounter. The Carmelite tradition has always been a path that leads people into a deeper relationship with God. Inspired by the wisdom and witness of St. Teresa of Jesus, St. John of the Cross, St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus, and the many saints of our Order, we seek to foster a spirituality that is rooted in prayer, nourished by community, and expressed through loving service.

CACTUS stands as a living expression of this mission. It is a place or a condition where seekers can deepen their faith, where individuals and communities can grow in spiritual maturity, and where the treasures of Carmelite spirituality can be shared with the Church and the wider world. Through retreats, recollections, spiritual formation programs, and various apostolic initiatives, we hope to accompany you in your journey toward a more intimate friendship with God.

As you explore the opportunities and resources available through CACTUS, I invite you to open your heart to the gentle action of God's grace. May this center become for you a source of inspiration, renewal, and spiritual nourishment. Entrusting you to the loving care of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, I assure you of the prayers of the Carmelite Friars. May the Lord bless you abundantly and lead you ever deeper into His love.

Fraternally yours in Carmel,

Very Rev. Fr. Joey Mabborang, OCD
